The Arbornauts is a female tree-climbing collective formed by Amanda White, Lydia Burggraaf, and Meghan Krauss. Arbornaut missions are climbing expeditions that require specialized uniforms, equipment and training. While the Arbornauts have participated in a number of curated performances, workshops and conference presentations, most often their work consists of unannounced tree climbing performances in public spaces such as city parks.
For their most recent secret mission (2015), the Arbornauts did a cross-Ontario tour, performing their vision of landscape in the arboreal spaces surrounding five Ontario galleries who focus on the group of Seven painters.
