Random Seeds is a collaborative project by Amanda White and Calgary-based architectural designer Matt Knapik developed over the course of a 6-week residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts in 2015. It explores an architectural language inspired by species variations in plants and seeds.
These greenhouses are part of an evolving family; each individual is the result of planting a particular geometric seed. A selection process guided by aesthetics, material constraints, and fabrication techniques helps cultivate the greenhouses between each generation.
